'We exist to satisfy the need for beauty. We mediate between the creator-artist and the sensitive viewer-consumer. Our aim is to present and promote the fine arts in order to give you the opportunity to buy objects of the creative work of artists from various fields: painting, sculpture and printmaking.

Buying artwork is, in the popular mind, an expensive pleasure, and we really think that building your own collection is realistically achievable, so it is worth looking into so-called young art, as it is not only interesting and diverse, but also affordable.

We invite you on a joint adventure through the meanders of all kinds of art, which you will be able to admire and buy in our Castle, where yesterday is history and tomorrow is ours to create' - Magdalena Nejman, Gallery Supervisor and Curator.

Barbara Krupa-Kapuśniak

Artist photographer born in Boleslawiec, living in Luban. She has discovered her path in photography and realises herself by creating art full of feminine energy, body taboos, symbiosis with nature and topics related to the herstory of ordinary women. Participant of artistic residencies, many group exhibitions, co-author of the exhibition ‘Dreaming’ with Alicja Przybyszowska. Finalist of the summary of the year by Polish Womens Photographers ‘Year 2022 in the eyes of Polish women photographers’ for the series ‘Las przyniesie mi ukojenie’. She won a distinction at the XXII Biennale of Mountain Photography for the Karkonosze theme and the main prize of the competition ‘Śladami Wiedźm’. Co-author of numerous publications, author of an e-book on the science of photography. Active in the dissemination of culture and art. She looks for inspiration in the forests and mountains she passionately explores, as well as in the stories of the women who appear in her life. By creating Polaroid transfers, she gives her photographs texture, highlights imperfections and plays with the unpredictability of the medium she uses, which gives her works their uniqueness. The thumbnail photographs (approx. 10x10cm) persuade the viewer to approach, to make a deeper contact with the image, to analyse it and to catalyse it through their own feelings. They invite the viewer to search for the message and their own deeper interpretation. Most of the images are accompanied by a short commentary, a hint for the viewer to polemicise with what they see and read.

Robert Szulik

He has been pursuing his adventure with art in the world of ceramics for four years, and created his first ceramic works two years ago. Robert Szulik’s sculptures are created in his home studio and at the MCC Bolesławiec Cultural Centre. The author is inspired by ‘beauty and truth, sometimes something ephemeral, a gesture of the moment, something that can be at least partially expressed by form, but has a positive effect through its vibration.’ He fires his sculptures traditionally in an electric kiln and some in the so-called Raku technique, which are characterised by beautiful reflections, light, often with a metallised surface.

Jan Papina

Jan Papina was born in 1950 in Walbrzych. His adventure with sculpting began with making figurines from soap. His first sculpture from linden wood was a figure of the Virgin Mary, whose knees are embraced by a cripple asking for a blessing. It was an incredible inspiration and love for this material in which he decided to continue his passion. He produces a variety of works on both sacred and secular themes, perfecting his craft while also working professionally. As a former soldier and a fan of J. Matejko’s paintings depicting the historical history of the Polish nation, he came up with the idea of realising in sculpture one of Matejko’s greatest works, ‘The Battle of Grunwald’, on a scale of 1:1 in relation to the painting, his aim being the approaching 600th anniversary of the victory of the Polish-Lithuanian army over the Teutonic Order. His enthusiasm and determination in pursuing his goal is enormous, which allows him, despite many difficulties, to realise it, although, as he says, it would not be possible without the support of sympathetic companies, local authorities, private individuals and above all his family.

Jacek Opała

Sculptor and ceramicist originally from Bolesławiec. He is fascinated by classical art, from ancient Pompeii, through Michelangelo to Igor Mitoraj. He strives to ensure that his works contain a perfect harmony of form, aesthetics and colour. Adding elements of architecture, eroticism and painting, he strives to capture and maintain emotion. Because he himself longs for art that is obvious, he wants his sculptures to tell stories. He is pleased when viewers recognise an allusion in them and create their own further story. The creative process involves carving a model in clay and making a mould from it. Based on this form, she creates a series of works with different elements of her stories and different ways of decorating – from raw, rough stoneware to intricate painting elements hidden in the glaze. Each work represents a new challenge and contains elements of technological experimentation. Jacek Opała is a member of the Association of Polish Ceramicists.

Mariusz Potyszka

He has been interested in sculpture, computer graphics for as long as he can remember. He admired artists for their craftsmanship, works and artwork. He personally started painting and sculpting from July 2019. Over the course of a year, he managed to sculpt 33 works. He was inspired by people who can create themselves. He is fascinated by human beings and everything related to them. That is why all the works are thematically linked. His sculptures are made of clay, as he believes that this medium is able to last for thousands of years. His creative work has absorbed him to such an extent that his entire life will be linked to it until the end.
